About Bonnie
Hometown: Elk Ridge
How did she start running: I wanted to get back in shape after I was done having kids. I started slow-2 miles at a time and after dozens of 5k races and half a dozen half marathons, I finally ran my first full marathon last month. love running!
Where is your favorite place to run: Payson Canyon
What is the best running advice you’ve ever received: Keep it fun and believe in your running dreams.
What’s the most memorable race you’ve ever run: The Virtual Utah Valley Marathon this year which I ran down Payson canyon with 4 running friends. It was epic.
I started running again when I was 45, years old just to get in shape. After running my first 5k race I was hooked. My next goal was to run a sub 30 5k. It took me 5 years until I could do it consistently. Last year I achieved my goal to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. And this year I ran my first full marathon at age 55. I was ecstatic to finish under 5 hours. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough. And if you train smart. I never want to stop running. It keeps me feeling alive and happy.
Bonnie ran the Independence Half Marathon.
