VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Join our Runtastic Volunteer Team!

The Runtastic Events Volunteer Program offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for each race to help you:

Connect With Others • Build Friendships • Make an Impact • Boost Your Well-Being • Support Runners and Spectators

HOW VOLUNTEER POINTS WORK

Upon successful completion of a task at a Runtastic event, volunteers earn “points,” which are added to their account on our Volunteer Redemption Site. These points can then be redeemed for future Runtastic race fees or Runtastic merchandise and swag.

Volunteer tasks are assigned a point value based on time commitment, labor intensive, and need, which may vary per race. Points will be affected if you arrive late or leave early. However, points are not impacted if your supervisor releases volunteers if the task is completed ahead of schedule. Additional points may be awarded for extra time spent on unfinished tasks, with approval from the task supervisor or Volunteer Coordinator.

Earned points are typically added to volunteer accounts within 7-10 business days after an event. This time frame will be reduced if two events are scheduled within a two-week period. A confirmation email will be sent once points have been added to your account.

VALUE OF VOLUNTEER POINTS

EARN YOUR NEXT RACE ENTRY!

  • Full Marathon – 120 Points
  • Half Marathon – 100 Points
  • 10K – 75 Points
  • 5K – 50 Points
  • Kids Run – 25 Points

The full amount of points for the desired race distance must be available in the volunteer’s account. Partial points may not be used toward race fees.

EARN SOME RUNTASTIC SWAG OR MERCH!

  • Swag & Merch – 1 point = $1
  • Shipping & Handling – 10 points (heaver items may be more points)

Arrangements must be made to pick up Swag/Merch at a race EXPO or by appointment at our American Fork office.

REDEEM YOUR POINTS

  • Visit the Volunteer Redemption Site to redeem your points.
  • Sign in using your volunteer registration email address.
  • Create a “pending request” to redeem your points for a specific race and distance. Please be aware of deadlines.
  • Additional pending requests may be created for the same event, regardless of the distance of the race.
  • Requests MUST be submitted before the deadline (1 week before race) to guarantee a code will be created before the desired event.
  • Pending requests will be generally fulfilled within 10-14 business days and the code will expire 1 week before the race. If a race code request is submitted on the last day, you will have 3 days from receiving your code to register.
  • NO CODES can be requested during race week.
  • Pending requests in the queue before the deadline will still be fulfilled.
  • Your code will be sent via email for you to apply toward a race fee. You must still register through the Runtastic Events race website.

HOW TO SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER

  • Learn more about the Volunteer Program.
  • Click the blue VOLUNTEER button under the specific Runtastic event you would like to volunteer for.
  • Volunteer tasks are organized chronologically by date for the race week. For quick access, use the “Find Your Category” links located at the top left of the webpage.
  • Our system prevents multiple registrations under the same name for identical tasks or time slots. Please use individual names even if you use the same email and telephone number to register.
  • Register for an available volunteer task after reviewing the details.
  • Watch your email for updates and further instructions especially as we get closer to the race.
  • Be flexible!

YOUR COMMITMENT:

After you sign up to volunteer, please commit to the following:

  • Save a copy of your volunteer confirmation email.
  • Pay attention to potential updates or further details via email or text.
  • Please respond to texts or emails–especially if asked to confirm your ongoing availability for your assigned volunteer task.
  • Be responsible for signing in and out of your shift, as instructed, in order to receive credit for volunteering.
  • Complete your assigned task for the duration of the shift time.
  • Be flexible — volunteers may be asked to do a variety of tasks during their shift.
  • If you are unable to attend your shift, please email volunteer@runtasticevents.com as soon as possible. For day-of illness or emergencies, please text the Volunteer Coordinator at the number provided in your race-week email.

OUR COMMITMENT:

As a volunteer, you can expect the following support and communication:

  • A confirmation email will be sent upon successful registration. This will come from our account at RunSignUp.com.
  • On occasion, changes to your volunteer task may be communicated via email or text.
  • A “Race Week” email will provide task-specific essential information, including a reminder of any updates or changes.
  • A Runtastic employee will supervise or direct you during your assignment. Once volunteers begin their shift, you may be asked to work independently for the duration.
  • For any additional questions or concerns, please email our volunteer coordinators at volunteer@runtasticevents.com.

VOLUNTEER FAQs

What happens if I don’t have enough volunteer points to redeem for a race?

WE RECOMMEND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Alternative Race Distances

Many Runtastic events offer multiple distance options. Consider registering for a distance that matches your available points.

Share Your Points

Volunteers can share their points with family and friends.

To help a family member or friend participate in a specific event, volunteers can request a race code for that event from their account on the Volunteer Redemption Site. Please remember that all standard redemption rules and procedures apply. You can find more details above under “Redeem Your Points“.

To transfer a specific number of points to another person, please send an email to:  volunteer@runtasticevents.com.

To ensure proper processing of your request, please send the email from your recognized volunteer email account and include the following information:

A clear statement authorizing the point transfer.

The full name and email address of the recipient.

The exact number of points you would like to transfer.

Volunteer on Behalf of Someone

If you are volunteering on behalf of a friend or family member, please select a volunteer event that occurs before the athlete’s desired event. This ensures your volunteer points will be available for their use. When registering as a proxy, be sure to use the recipient’s email address.

I submitted a pending request, but I haven’t received my race code. When can I expect it?

Pending requests are typically processed within 10-14 business days. Please note that all requests submitted before the deadline will be processed in time for race registration. Processing times may vary as requests are prioritized according to the race event calendar. Slight delays may also occur due to holidays.

Can I give my volunteer points to someone else, like my child?

Yes, volunteer points can be transferred or “gifted” to someone else, like a family member or friend. This enables the recipient to use the points for race registration fees or other available rewards.

Gifting Volunteer Points for a Specific Event:

Volunteers can help someone participate in a specific event by creating a “pending request” from their account on the Volunteer Redemption Site. All standard redemption rules and procedures apply, as detailed under “Redeem Your Points” above.

Transfer Volunteer Points via Email:

Alternatively, you can transfer a specific number of your volunteer points by sending an email from your registered volunteer email address to: volunteer@runtasticevents.com.

Please include the following information in your email:

  • A clear statement confirming your authorization to transfer the points.
  • The recipient’s full name and email address.
  • The exact number of points you wish to transfer.

If I submit a pending request to use my points for two participants running the same race and distance, do they both need a code?

No, the race code will be the same for both participants. It’s a custom code specifically for you.

Can groups volunteer and receive a donation or contribution?

Runtastic Events often collaborates with schools, organizations, and other groups for the opportunity to receive a donation to their organization or preferred charity. Individual volunteers from your group will not earn volunteer points.

There are minimum volunteer requirements for group participation to receive donations.

Interested groups should email: volunteer@runtasticevents.com and include:

  • The name of your school, organization, or group.
  • The point of contact’s name, email, and phone number.
  • An estimated number of volunteers.
  • Potential events your group would like to volunteer.
