Kick things off with our costume contest at the Half Marathon start line, then earn your creepy-crawly spider medal and bragging rights at Utah’s most spirited Halloween race.
The Half Marathon takes you 13.1 miles down Provo Canyon, through the Spook Alley tunnel, past creepy creatures in the haunted forest and the eerie graveyard, before escaping under the giant pumpkin arch finish.
The 5K is short, fast, and full of costume fun — the perfect chance to run (or race) with your crew in full Halloween spirit. The Kids Run gives little ghosts and goblins a chance to dash a half-mile and cross the same festive finish line.
Costumes, canyon speed, and spider bling — HAUNTED Provo is the Halloween run you’ll want to sink your fangs into.

Please pick up your packet, bib number, shirt, and race swag at the race expo the day before the race. You must have a photo ID to pick up your packet. You may pick up someone else’s packet if you have a copy of their photo ID.
AVOID THE FEE — PICK UP YOUR PACKET ON FRIDAY!
We strongly encourage all runners to pick up their race packet on Friday to skip the $15 LATE FEE (cash or card accepted). Race morning pickup is only available as a last resort.
If needed, you can pick up your bib and packet up to 60 minutes before your race, or at the beginning of the Half Marathon bus loading time at the bus loading location. The 5K & Kids Run pick up location will be at the black HAUNTED Runtastic Tent by the finish line. Race shirts can be picked up after your race and are subject to availability.
RACE DAY PARKING: There are several parking lots around Qualtrics by the finish line. Please do not park in areas that are blocked off.
HALF MARATHON BUS LOADING TIME & LOCATION
TIME: 5:30 – 6:45 AM
The costume contest for the best male, female, and group will start at 7:00 AM. Make sure you’re on one of the earlier buses if you want to participate!
LOCATION: SW of the finish line at 5005 North 300 West, Provo, UT
You must be at the bus loading location by 6:30 AM to guarantee transportation to the start. If you miss the bus, you will forfeit your registration and the opportunity to participate in the race. Please arrive on time. THERE IS NO SELF-TRANSPORTATION TO THE START.
All race starts will have music, electrolytes, water, and porta-potties. COURSE MAPS
HALF MARATHON
START: 8:00 AM
LOCATION: Big Springs Park in Provo Canyon
7:00 AM: Costume Contest — The crowd will vote on the Top 3 Best Male and Female Costumes for free or discounted race entries. There will also be prizes for the Best Group Costume!
Ride one of the earlier buses to make sure you don’t miss all the fun!
*COLD WEATHER WARNING* Brrrr…Those fall temps are creepin’ in! Please note that the temperature might be 40° F or colder at the start of the race. Dance to the music and warm up while sipping (or holding) hot chocolate. Use your race bag to drop your warmer clothes and/or blankets to pick up at the finish, or use a donation bin at the start. Clothing left on the course will be picked up by the clean-up crew and thrown away or donated. Jump down to Bag Drop info.

KIDS RUN
START: 11:00 AM
LOCATION: Qualtrics Cloud Village Parking Lot – North of the Finish Line
A bag drop is provided only at the Half Marathon start line.
Please use the bag you receive at the expo with your race packet to put any items that you bring to the start and won’t be running with. Tear-off the tag with your race number from the bottom of your bib and attach it with the zip tie provided in your bag. You can also use a permanent marker to write your bib number in the box on the front of the bag.
**Please only put items in the bag that do not have personal, valuable, or essential (like car keys!). Runtastic is not liable for the loss or damage of any belongings that are put in the drop bags.
DROP BACK AT THE START—PICK-UP AT THE FINISH: Announcements will be made to drop your bag in the designated Bag Drop vehicle 5 minutes before the start of the race so you can keep your warm clothes longer. You can retrieve your bag with your race bib number at the Bag Pick-up Corral.
NEW PICK UP LOCATION AT THE FINISH: North of the Finish Line at the Qualtrics Cloud Village’s parking lot (by the Kid Run start)
DISCARDING CLOTHING & TRASH ON THE COURSE:
To help keep the course clean and our staff/volunteers safe on the road, please ONLY discard clothing at the start, at Mile 2, or at Aid Stations in designated donation bins. Please carry trash to discard in bins at Mile Markers or Aid Stations. Clothing left on the course will be picked up by the clean-up crew and thrown away or donated.
We appreciate your help to keep these beautiful courses clean for the cities and communities that are allowing us to run through them!

Electrolytes, water, porta-potties, and a first aid kit will be available at each station. Look for electrolytes on the first table and water on the second.

BIBS & TIMING BY THE RACE TIME
The HAUNTED Provo Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids Run will be professionally timed. The chips will be attached to the back of your bib number. Please don’t wrinkle or stuff the bib in your pocket.
The Top Three Overall Male and Female finishers will be determined by gun time (regular timing). The Age Group awards will be determined by using Chip Time.
- GUN Time is the time elapsed from the sound of the gun to the finish line.
- CHIP Time is the real time from when the runner crosses the starting line to crossing the finish line.
Results are available in the following ways:
- On the screen or printed at the gray “Results” Trailer
- RESULTS Online (If you are checking Results during the race, select the current from the dropdown menu.)
Note: If you alter or damage your chip, your time may not be read correctly. Wear your bib on the outermost layer of clothing on your front side.

RUN WITH THE RYR PACERS
The Run Your Race (RYR) Pacers will be pacing the Half Marathon runners to help them achieve a new PR!
To run with a pace group, look for the pacer holding up a sign with the finishing time you want to achieve on it. The overall time listed will get faster as you get closer to the starting line. Please find your pacer and line up behind them to ensure you will start and be around other runners with a similar pace.

COURSE: To watch and support your runners along the course, please find a viewing area that allows you to drive and park without interfering with the runners. Please park in designated parking lots and not along the course/runner’s path. Dogs/Pets are NOT allowed anywhere on the course for the safety of the runners.
FINISH LINE: Cheer on your runners along the fencing leading up to the finish line and after they come out in the finish area. The corral area directly after the finish line is for runners only. Please refrain from entering this area so all of our participants are able to get their professional photos, finisher medals, and post-race food before exiting and joining you to celebrate in the finish area.

The finish line is at Qualtrics at 5102 N 300 W in Provo, Utah.
Brave the Spook Alley tunnel and skeleton graveyard to finish strong through the giant inflatable pumpkin finish line, where you will be celebrated with finisher photos and a race medal. (Food in the Finish Line Corral is reserved for registered participants.)
